Cooking a few chicken wings drummettes on a spit roaster is a simple way to feed a small group. While normal rotisserie spikes can be used to cook a roast chicken, cooking chicken drummettes in a basket will give you a delicious smoky flavour and crown you as the charcoal chicken king or queen.
Ingredients:
- Chicken wings or drummettes
- Flaming Coals Gyros Spit Roaster Seasoning
Method:
- Marinate chicken wings for at least 2 hours in Flaming Coals Gyros Spit Roaster Seasoning. (Overnight is preferable)
- Placing wings in Auspit Spitmate or in a Cyprus Spit Basket
- Cook over medium heat until golden brown and an internal temperature of 75 degrees is reached.

Attaching it to the spit:
- You’ll need a skewer and a Spit Mate, either the Junior or the Medium one
- Pass the skewer through the Spit Mate on where you put the chicken wings or drummettes
- Lock tight the Spitmate to the skewer using the wing nut
- Turn the motor on
Cooking time:
Many factors will influence your cooking time; however, to be on the safe side, allow around 2-2.5 hours.
